There are some great new jams this week so it was tough to select Adam’s pick, but we had to go with a 1-2 punch of Lee Buford bands, and both from our old pals at Thrill Jockey. Lee is the drummer (and more) from The Body and we have the new release by his project MANSLAUGHTER 777 (with a Zac Jones of NOTHING), “God’s World”. This is quite a turn of style for them both, leaning heavily into drum and bass / jungle / beat-oriented jams, but still heavy on atmosphere, samples, and noise. Highly recommended for you techno/electronic folks.
The reissue pick this week is “All the Waters of the Earth Turn to Blood” by The Body, available again for its 15th anniversary. This is the album that kind of blew up for The Body and showed them fully refining their experimental sludge sound. Essential for fans of heavy, noisy, and weird.
Of course we have the new TYLER CHILDERS album, “Sniper Hunter,” available now in both indie exclusive color vinyl and black vinyl. The Appleton store will also be hosting a little listening party tonight at 6pm where we will give away a signed print to one lucky attendee.
