THE HEAVY DOSE (NEW RELEASE): This new Deadguy album, "Near-Death Travel Services," is a real treat for all the 90's hardcore folks. This feels like the perfect follow up to their 1995 Victory Records release, "Fixation on a Coworker." THE HEAVY DOSE (REISSUE): Oh you know we are gonna talk about the DEMILICH reissue now that it's finally here! I've told tons of you to check them out when you've picked up Blood Incantation, Full of Hell, and the like. Now you can grab a copy of the record. Their only full-length "Nespithe" is pressed again courtesy of Svart Records and it is WONDERFUL. Technical, progressive death metal, and it's easy to hear the influence they've had over the last 30+ years. Don't sleep on this one. Each store is just receiving these today, so they'll be out on the floor ASAP. We're also receiving the 2xLP reissue of their demo tapes.
THE LIGHTER FARE (NEW RELEASE): Durand Jones and the Indications are back! One of my favorites modern soul groups and I have been anticipating this one HEAVILY. "Flowers" is the new album, and delivers on all fronts. Smooth, grooving soul that will be the perfect soundtrack to your summer. THE LIGHTER FARE (REISSUE): Yes, it's a White Stripes album, "Get Behind Me Satan," but this was the record that finally got me into them after years of kinda not getting it. Subsequently that also helped launch me down a path of discovering tons of great garage rock and garage punk, so I'm always going to have a soft spot for this solid record. Reissued by Third Man on some cool smoke red vinyl, and we got them straight from the label so the price is nice.
