It’s finally Friday and the stores are filled with a bunch of new releases and reissues, stocked with some killer titles. It’s Cruz’s picks instead of Adam’s picks this week while Adam is stuck in New Orleans on flight delays!
Cruz’s new release pick is Renneé Rapp’s brand new second studio album titled “Bite Me.” Right off the bat Reneé packs a punch with “Leave Me Alone”, the lead single off her new album. Reneé uses the pallet of love to express all the different ways it has impacted her life, making the new record feel like her diary with how honest and straightforward she is throughout the 12-tracks. This album as a whole touches on the many shades of emotions, high and lows and the really intense love-struck moments her fanbase can relate too. The pop princess knocks it out of the park once again with her brand new album “Bite Me.”

The reissue for Cruz’s pick this week is Magdalena Bay’s “Mini Mix” LP pressed on iridescent blue vinyl with an etched picture on Side-D. This 2LP record has all three of Magdalena Bay’s Mini Mixes, like Volume 1 that kicked off their career, Volume 2 that grew to be a fan favorite, and Volume three the summer filled pop mix. Each song is a portal to a synth filled world, a hyper pop summer landscape with some inspiring bass lines, and a wide variety of light and plucky synths. These three mixes are great for any pop fan looking for an ethereal dance escape.
Super exciting reissues at Eroding Winds this week; just got in some new Blue Note Tone Poet Reissues! Jacknife by Jackie McLean and Horace Silver’s, The Tokyo Blues. Albums are pressed on 180g vinyl and are mastered/cut from the original tapes. Highly recommended and a great edition to your jazz collection.
