Niveous - CULT OF THE VOID STAR
Exceptional BLACK METAL from Milwaukee. I went to their record release show a few weeks back and it was great, we picked up these records there. The album is heavy and nasty, and all the copies we have include the sick booklet with great artwork. Highly recommended! Plus, our ol Pal Nicholas Elert plays synths on the recording.
Regulator Watts - kWh
The 90s DC post-hardcore band returns for a comeback EP, recorded at Electrical Audio by Kurt Ballou. If that sentence isn’t enough to get you excited then I don’t know what else to tell you. Great stuff.
Paul Riedl - DEMYSTIFICATION // FORESTSCAPES
More great new age/space folk/cosmic ambient from “The Blood Incantation guy”, the blurb on the album says “gentle, cinematic starscapes & pastoral acoustic environments.” and that seems about right. Definitely required listening if you grabbed one of the WATER TAPE 2xLPs we released by Paul. This one is a but more active listening with lots of guitar going on, which could be a nice change of pace for some listeners.
John Carpenter - CATHEDRAL
After a handful of Lost Themes and score work, here comes an original and complete piece that is intended to be a soundtrack to John Carpenter’s dreams, with a singular narrative tying it all together. Very cool stuff, a bit heavy sometimes with full on drums and guitar, and plenty of iconic Carpenter synth.
