16 Horsepower - Secret South LP

Vinyl re-press of the 2000 album. Black vinyl. Secret South captures 16 Horsepower at their most intense: a brooding blend of gothic Americana, folk roots, country shadows and ritualistic undertones. Bandoneon, banjo, hurdy-gurdy and David Eugene Edwards' unmistakable vocals create a sound both ancient and timeless -- stark, feverish and deeply immersive. The album shifts between sparse minimalism and wide, cinematic arrangements, revealing one of the group's most accomplished and emotionally charged recordings.
