Killer finds the group further honing its heavy-rock sound while hinting at the more complex song structures that would appear on subsequent releases. The proof is in songs such as the unrelenting "Desperado," the commanding "Be My Lover," and the direct "Under My Wheels," all Coop staples.

The 50th Anniversary gatefold 180g vinyl LP reissue was mastered by Joe Reagoso at Friday Music Studios and Capitol Records in Hollywood. This collectible edition is presented with a deluxe die-cut cover (originally designed by Alice himself), with the original detachable 1972 calendar artwork. Kachina, his boa constrictor, is featured on this classic album cover.
