Australian trio Dirty Three's music has been called lyrical, passionate, and inspiring, which is all readily apparent on 1996's Horse Stories. Recorded at Maison Rouge Studios in London, England, it served as the band's second album for Touch And Go, and the record that put them on the map, showcasing their languid, nocturnal violin, guitar, and drum whirlwinds. The evocative cover art was designed by guitarist Mick Turner.
