For the more accessible pick y’all know it’s this DEFTONES “Private Music” album! Their first new record in 5 years and my favorite since “Diamond Eyes” (I might like it even more) As someone that was there for the band’s rise in the 90s and the release of “White Pony,” the new record feels like a great new landmark.
For the more underground title we have the new LP from Oregon doom/sludge icons HELL, titled “Submersus,” Anyone that’s been following the shop knows we’re huge fans of MSW’s HELL, and if you’ve listened to the albums then it’s obvious why. Disgusting heavy riffs, beautiful melancholy atmospheres. HELL has an identity all its own and is unmatched in modern metal. LOWER YOUR HEAD.
